FAQ

Good questions, honest answers.

Everything people ask us before their first visit — and a few things we wish everyone knew about caring for their nails.

Booking & Visiting

How do I book an appointment?

Give us a call at (520) 568-5650 and we’ll find a time that suits you. Walk-ins are welcome too — we’re open seven days a week, just off John Wayne Parkway in Maricopa.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Yes — walk-ins have always been part of how we work. If you’re coming for a longer service like a full set, calling ahead helps us have a chair ready so you’re not waiting.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

No fees, no fuss — we just ask that you call as early as you can to let us know. It frees the chair for someone else and helps us keep the day running smoothly for everyone.

Do you take group bookings — bridal parties or a girls’ day?

We do, and they’re some of our favorite appointments. Groups need to be booked at least one week in advance and may be limited to four people, so call us at (520) 568-5650 to confirm what we can arrange for your date.

Can kids get their nails done?

Absolutely. We offer a kids’ manicure and a kids’ pedicure with a hand-painted flower for children under 10 — a sweet first salon visit alongside mom or grandma.

Choosing a Service

What’s the difference between regular polish, gel polish, and dip powder?

Regular polish is the classic finish — beautiful, budget-friendly, and easy to change, though it can chip within about a week. Gel polish is cured under a lamp for a glossy finish that typically lasts two to three weeks without chipping. SNS dip powder adds strength as well as color: a lightweight powder system that wears comfortably for three to four weeks and is a favorite for natural nails that need extra support.

How long does gel polish last?

Typically two to three weeks of glossy, chip-resistant wear, depending on how you use your hands day to day. Daily cuticle oil and gloves for housework stretch it further.

What’s included in a standard pedicure?

Every standard pedicure includes nail trimming and shaping, gentle cuticle care, a softening lotion massage, a soothing hot-stone rub, a jacuzzi foot bath, and finishing polish. From there, the menu steps up through sugar scrubs, callus treatments, paraffin, and masques — up to the Volcano Spa pedicure.

What’s the difference between Gel-X, builder gel, and acrylic?

Gel-X is a soft gel extension — a full-coverage tip that adds length without much weight. Builder gel is a thick gel brushed over your own nail to strengthen it as it grows. Acrylic is the strongest option for long sets. We offer all three; our Gel-X guide at serenitybyrose.com/gel-x compares them side by side.

What’s the difference between a full set and a fill-in?

A full set is a fresh application of nail enhancements from bare nails. As your nails grow, a gap appears near the cuticle — a fill-in covers that regrowth and rebalances the nail, keeping the set looking new. Most clients come in for a fill every two to three weeks.

Do you do nail art or designs?

Yes — from a simple toe design to something more personal. Possibilities and pricing depend on the design, so give us a call and we’ll talk through what you have in mind before your visit.

Do you offer more than nails?

Yes — alongside manicures, pedicures, and enhancements we offer body waxing, facial treatments, and eyelash extensions. It’s a full quiet-hour menu under one roof.

Nail Health & Aftercare

Will dip powder or tip enhancements damage my natural nails?

Not when they’re applied and removed with care — and care is what we’re known for. Damage almost always comes from rushed application or improper removal at home. Rose has been doing this for over ten years: gentle prep, no aggressive filing, and professional removal keep the natural nail healthy underneath.

How should enhancements be removed? Can I pick them off?

Please don’t pick or peel — that’s the one thing that truly damages the natural nail, lifting layers of it away with the product. Come in and we’ll remove them properly; nail tip removal is a quick, inexpensive service on our menu.

How do I make my manicure or pedicure last longer?

Three habits make the biggest difference: apply cuticle oil daily, wear gloves for dishes and cleaning, and don’t use your nails as tools. A top-coat refresh between visits helps regular polish too.

I have a broken or troublesome nail — can you help?

Bring it in — a broken nail can usually be repaired or blended into your set, and rough or overgrown cuticles respond well to gentle, patient care. For anything that looks infected or painful, we’ll always recommend seeing a doctor first.

The Salon

How do you keep tools and pedicure tubs clean?
